Hey thrill seekers!

Winter is beginning here at TwoDog Farms.  Our first winter for the bees.

At this time we need to be doing a mite treatment and starting to build new bee gear for the big summer expansion.  And to help them through the winter we will wrapping the hives in insulative material, adding “Quilt Boards” to absorb excess moisture, as well as adding new feeder lids of our own design.

But that’s boring!  Here’s some idiot grabbing bees with his bare hands!  Enjoy.

This was a small beard of bees.  I should have waited for a hotter day and gotten more.

FYI this is no trick for master beekeepers.  But I am still geeking out about it.
